Opera comes with a default setup for handling files transferred to your computer.
To add your own file types:
Action | Explanation |
---|---|
Show download dialog | Display multiple choice dialog on how to handle file. |
Open with Opera | Opera can show text, markup languages, and images. |
Save to disk |
|
Open with other application | Specify application to use for this file type. You can pass the file address directly to the application (useful with streaming multimedia). |
Use plug-in | Use a plug-in to view the file |
Some servers may be incorrectly set up and tell you that a movie file is a plain text file. Try setting Opera to identify unreliable types by file extension to work around this.
Tip: Type in the "Quick find" field to find the file type you want to edit.
Note: Be careful when editing file types. Opera depends on certain file types in order to work properly.
