Introduction to Peacock

Motivation

In this modern, Internet-ly inclined world of ours, or should I say, the iWorld, everyone is turning to the Web for fulfilling their needs. Everybody has a website, even if it is just to show off. From the biggest coporations of the world, to the kid next door. And as the Web grows, so does Linux.

Till recently, most people in linux, used their favourite editor, be it vi or emacs, to make websites. Now with modern and mature Desktop Environments coming up, GUI based HTML Editor are surfacing in the Linux scene. Peacock is one such GUI HTML Editor which is being developed to fulfill the need of most Linux-ers.

The Peacock's authors are developing it using the latest GNOME technologies, to answer the need of the GNOME community for a GNOME-complaint HTML Editor.
