Appointments/Transaction Window

Below there is a screenshot of the appointments window, this is the most important GFP screen and the most used. Through this screen it is possible to registry all account transactions and obtain useful information like account amount for any day (past, present and future), it is possible to find out haw much money you are spending with gas in a specific period. Lets describes now how is possible to get these information. We will do that describing the red rounded area at the picture below.
First we will describe how transaction are listed. This predictions will be displayed as transaction with a faded color.

1 - Account
This two fields allow to select the current working account.
If they left in blank GFP will list on it table, all transactions to all accounts, then will be displayed a column identifying each transaction account. To select a account, on the first field select the account type, actually bank account, account savings and credit card are supported. Then select the account for the type selected.
This selection is useful for an easy visualization of all transactions to an account. When you select a account, click on ?Refresh? button then GFP will display all transactions for that account on the current month, including the predictions, if the prediction feature is enable.

Item 2 - Interval
By using these fields is possible to select one period to view the transactions. The default value is with the checkbox checked and the date fields in blank; this way GFP will show all transactions for the current month. It is possible to select a custom interval; just select the initial date and final date. If you select only the initial, GFP will assume the final date as the end of the selected month. If you select only the final date, GFP will list all transactions starting by the first day of the current month.
To see all transactions (all account transaction history) just uncheck the interval checkbox; this way GFP will list all transactions to the selected account. To reset a selected interval (clear the date fields) just uncheck and check again the interval checkbox.

Item 3 - Transaction Fields
These are the fields the compose one transaction. It is 7 fields, only 3 on them are obligatory: Date, Value and Type.
- The field Date is the transaction.
- The field Valor is the transaction value. Type a minus (-) signal any time on this field to indicate a negative value. (It is also possible to use a built-in calculator by clicking on the field?s right side button)
- The field Type indicates the transaction type. This field help to classify yours account transactions, identifying expenses and incomes, making possible to extract detailed information such as how much money you expend with gas through this month.

The not mandatory fields are: Repeat, "Paid to/received from", "Purchase/Sell of" and Description.
- The field Repeat is useful when you need to repeat one transaction many times. For example, lets suppose we buy TV, that costs $2.000. We parceled this buy into 5 parcels of $400 on credit card. This way we select the date that we made the transaction, the value and the type. But, on the value field we inform the parcel value, that is, $400; then we check the repeat field. Will be enabled the fields to inform how many times we want to repeat the transaction (4 times, remember that the first transaction we are already registering, GFP will insert 4 transaction to complete the total), and inform what the transaction repetition periodicity (i.e. 1 by month).
Then when we click on the "New" button, to insert our transaction, the GFP will repeat for the next 4 months.
- The field Paid to/received from it is a optional field useful to obtain more detailed reports about your expenses. For example, let suppose you usually lunch at two different restaurants. When you are registering the transaction you can fill this field informing what restaurant you expend the money (the restaurants must be registered on contacts/entities window). This way you will be able to get reports from GFP informing how much money you expend on each restaurant.
- The field Purchase/Sell of works like the above field. This time the objective is register some relevant item bought (for example a car). You need to register it on the Assets window, then you can select it when you registry the transaction. So you will be able to know when and how you buy the car.
- The field Descrição Fill it freely with anything.

Filling these fields it is possible to filter the data listed on the table data. For example, if you desire to see how many times we lunched on restaurants on a determined time interval, we need just to select "Lunch" on the Type field and click on filter button. The GFP will list only the transactions of the selected type on the selected account.

Item 4 - Include Subtypes
This is a useful field for filtering operations, as commented on last topic.

Item 5 - Hide Predictions
With this field you can hide the predictions. GFP make predictions about you expenses and incomes by analyzing you history. Check this box to hide this predictions. To disable predictions you need go to Tools menu.

Item 6 - Amount at
This field allow you to know the amount of the selected account a t any day you select.

Item 7 - Amout at the end of month
Here GFP inform the amount of the selected account at the end of the current month. This calculation can include or exclude predictions as explained at item 5.

Item 8 - Filtered sum
GFP informs the sum of all listed transaction on the data table, it is a useful field if you perform a filtering, for example by transaction type, and want to know the sum of these transactions.

Any time you can print the transactions listed on table data as a report, with a preview.

That?s the most important features of this window.
