Ease-of-use differentiates muuz from its smaller, discrete- or dedicated- computer mind-machines. Additionally, since the rectangle screen of the program contains 3-D boxes, frames,, pop-down widgets,' and more, muuz is easier to understand. Use is fairly intuitive, and if the user has questions, a click or two can bring information up at once.
Absolutely no health claims are made for muuz. This program was inspired by the many books and articles that have demonstrated the use of light and sound to assist in relaxation, sleep, learning, as a tool to teach meditative techniques, and so forth. But the main use of this program may be simply fun, so whether you use this program as a game or for other reasons, enjoy!
Sometime in the future we plan to add the capability for talented people who want to to add their own programs. The talent required is the detailed understanding of what patterns of binaural beats and flashes produce what neurophysiological affects.
This man page is a starting point. Other documentation is in the file ``TOUR'' for X Window System programmers or other who want a technical overview of muuz. The HTML documentation is currently at ``http://www.magnesium.net/~kline/pm/projectmuuz.html''
For now, start exploring by typing simply ``muuz'' at the command-line prompt.
% muuz
and watch as the largely steel-grey rectangle fills your screen
The first blue rectandle displayed is the ``Control Panel'' which allows you to familiarize yourself with the programs 6 controls. The red rectangle in the upper left lets you select the ``Pre-Programmed'' screen, return to the ``Control Panel'' screen, or exit the program.
The ``Pre-Programmed'' lets you Select among 7 catagories of Programs, and choose which Program. Once you have decide, press the up-arrow of the Action button to turn Stop to Play. Then enjoy!
