Opening a Chromatogram

Back | Contents | Next
A chromatogram can be opened in a number of ways:

Click the Open button in the toolbar, and then navigate to the file location.

Select File > Open from the menu bar, and then navigate to the file location.

cmd O (Mac) or ctrl O (others), then navigate to the file location.

Drop a chromatogram document icon onto the FinchTV application icon (Mac and Windows only).

Drop a chromatogram document icon onto the FinchTV application window (all versions except Solaris).

Double click a chromatogram with an SCF (.scf) or ABI (.abi, .ab1, .abd) extension (Mac only).  The file type may need to be associated with the FinchTV application first.

Start the application from the command line.

Mac:

# open <path to FinchTV>/FinchTV.app [optional traceFile]

 Linux and Solaris:

# <path to FinchTV>/finchtv [optional traceFile]

Gzipped ABI and SCF chromats can be viewed with FinchTV.

Opening a gzipped file via the command line on Mac gunzips it.  The command must then be rerun on the gunzipped file to open it.
