The TeamSpeak client GUI

If you have started the TeamSpeak client you should now have a nice purple window in front of you divided in three separate sections. The left section, the Connection Window, gives information about connections, like what server you are connected to, in what channel you are and who are present (how to connect to a server will be explained in Menu Connections). Behind channels there are letters between brackets which are called “Flags”. A brief overview:

•“R” stands for Registered

•“U” for Unregistered

•“M” for Moderated

•“P” for Passworded

•“S” stands for Sub-Channels

•“D” stands for Default

All these flags are explained in the Menu Channels-Create Channel section

Persons also have flags which give you info about their status. Overview:

•“R” means registered

•“U” means Unregistered

•“SA” means Server Admin

•“CA” means Channel Admin

•“O” means Operator

•“AO” meas Auto-Operator

•“V” means Voice

•“AO” means Auto-Voice

•“WV:.........” means Want Voice with behind it the reason

All these flags will be explained in the Menu players and Menu Self sections.

In front of your name is a light which is a transmit indicator. When it lights up you are transmitting. This light is normally green and when you’re a Channel Commander (the status Channel Commander is explained in the Menu Self - Channel Commander section) it is red.

The right section of the window, the Information window, gives information about the highlighted item of the Connection window. The lower section, the Event window, provides information about all the events that are happening within TeamSpeak and displays text messages if someone decides to send one.
